Álvarez Uría (born 1 February 1950 in Gijón, Asturias) is a retired
Spanish footballer, who played as a left defender. During 11 senior
seasons (consecutive), Uría played in La Liga, starting with Real Oviedo
in 1972-73. After the club’s relegation the following year, he joined
national powerhouse Real Madrid, being relatively used in two of his
three seasons, and winning his entire silverware.
