a Hindustani classical and Playback singer, daughter of H. S. Gopinath
(a tabla player). She practiced Hindustani classical music for nearly 16
years with guidance of renowned Hindustani vocalist Dr. Nagaraja Rao
Havaldar, disciple of Bhimsen Joshi. Chaitra holds a Bachelor of
Engineering, specialised in Information Science and Engineering. She is
skilled at Gymnastics and Fencing, at which she has been a state level
champion for 3 years. She has represented Karnataka, at the national
level, in more than 20 competitions and has won gold medals in both
sports.
